Dennis Hopper’s art collection up for auction
Dennis Hopper’s art collection is expected to raise around £8.3m when sold later this month.
The late actor amassed an eclectic mix of artwork during his life, including paintings by Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg and Basquiat. The work by Warhol was of the actor himself.
The work by Basquiat, named ‘Untitled’, is expected to be at the top of most collectors most wanted lists and is expected to reach approximately £4.5m when sold.
The auction of Hopper’s works by Christies will take place at two separate auction events in November and January. The famous actor known for his role in Easy Rider died in May aged 74.
