Few galleries match the Tate Britain for scope

One of the things that seems to put a few people off the idea of visiting the Tate Britain is the prospect of being overexposed to British art. However, this particular prejudice is completely unfounded.

Whilst the Tate Britain offers a stunning array of British art from JMW Turner to Francis Bacon via Moore, Freud and Rossetti, there is also a great deal of international art on display.

Some of the Tate Britain’s highlights include famous European works by the likes of Beckmann, Bonnard, Cezanne, Dali, Ernst, Gorky, Grosz, Magritte, Mondrian and Picasso, as well as American masterpieces by Johns, Pollock, Rothko and Whistler.

Next time you’re planning to visit the Tate Modern for the umpteenth time, take a moment to consider the Tate Britain for its sheer scope.
